In this nation, which was born in the blood war, taken from the the wilderness and given life. Given liberty by the Divine to live and worship Him as their conscience dictated. To enjoy the fruits of their labor and to seek and pursue their own happiness.
Within a century this nation was again bathed in blood to give liberty to the remainder of its children.
Through two world wars, with several smaller conflicts the blood of the children of this nation was sacrificed for the ideas and purpose of liberty.
Now, upon entering the year of 2012 we see a betrayal in this nation, a betrayal to the idea of liberty. This betrayal comes in the form of the National Defense Authorization Act among others.
This Bill was passed under the guise of fighting the ambiguous threat of terrorism.
This bill allows for the indefinite apprehension and detention of the citizens of this once great nation by the military and government on a mere accusation of what they have labeled as terrorism.
Faith in Jesus is going to bring about a confrontation with authorities soon enough. True and undefiled faith says that Christians are to love not the world nor the things in the world, we are to remain separate from wickedness and are told to hate all manifestations of it.
Now in America, we see the sin of sodomy legitimized and applauded as if were ordained by God Himself.
We see the near complete destruction of the family with divorce favored over reconciliation, selfishness, hatred for anything that is righteous, outright assaults on people of faith.
The killing of infants in the womb is hailed as a right while killing an animal is railed against.
If you speak out against sin you are proclaimed to be a hater. If you take a public stand against evil you can be jailed, harassed, beaten, and now with the ambiguous and undefined war on terror you can be hauled off indefinitely to a prison camp.
Because of our wickedness these things have come upon us. Because we as a nation have turned our backs on the righteousness of the Father of Lights.
This article is titled betrayal for a twofold reason, first our elected officials have betrayed their oath to honor the Constitution and also because the people of faith in this nation have for the most part betrayed their faith in Christ by tolerating wickedness within the halls of government.
Now the Lord is calling judgment on the head which is the political leaders, and on the tail which are the religious leaders. Both have led this people astray.
“How long will your heart devise evil, how long will you desire corruption and bribery?
Your wickedness reaches into your heart, you are wise to do evil but to do good you have no knowledge.
Because you have set up your idols in your heart and have turned your righteousness into shame, behold says the Lord,
” I will make the whole land desolate, I have purposed and will not relent. The people of the cities will flee from the sound of the oppressor, they will hide in the thickets and run to the mountaintops, all of your cities will be emptied and not a man shall dwell in them.
I have heard a voice of crying, of anguish as of a woman who gives birth to her first child. She throws out her hands crying ‘ woe is me for I am surrounded by murders ‘.
There as those who will continue to say ‘..as the Lord lives..’ But they swear falsely saying My wrath will not come.
Although I have stricken them they have not grieved, although I have consumed them they have not repented. They have refused correction, their faces are harder than rocks; surely these are a foolish people, silly children who do not know the way of the Lord.
They have become unruly and altogether corrupt, therefore a wolf shall hunt them and the lion of the desert shall slay them.
How shall I forgive this when your children have forsaken Me and sworn by them which are not gods. When I had fed them to the full they went and committed adultery, they lined up in the harlots houses as if they were well fed lusty stallions. Everyone neighed after his neighbors wife.
Shall I not punish them for this?
Shall I not avenge myself on a nation such as this?
They have dealt very treacherously with Me. They have lied about Me saying ‘ the wrath of the Lord will not come upon us, nor shall we see violence or famine ‘. Their words have become as wind and so shall both of these things come upon them, both violence and famine.
Because you speak these words I shall make your words as a burning fire, the fire will devour all who hear you, as stubble they shall burn, their bodies shall become an ash heap because you have lied about the Lord, because they wanted to believe your lies and their hearts were turned to their own idols.
Behold I will bring a nation against you from afar who will show you no mercy, a mighty nation whose language you do not speak.
They will show you no mercy, the elderly and the wise they will not honor. The husbands they will slay and the women they will rape, the pregnant they will rip open and dash the children against the rocks. Your children they will take as slaves because you have turned your backs to Me.
When they cry to me I will not hear because when I cried to them they would not hear. I sent my servants to you day after day, rising up early yet you rose against them saying ‘ do not speak thus and thus, but speak pleasant things ‘.
Because this people honored Me with their mouth yet their heart was from Me so now will I give them over to their wickedness.
From this day forth, let it be known and proclaimed from the mountains to the seas, from the forests to the fields, and from city to city that I, the LORD your GOD have weighed this people in the balance and you have been found wanting.
So now, this nation which I have raised up for My glory I will judge.
I will judge everything in this land which has breath, man and women, elderly and child. Be it known that because of your wickedness this evil will come upon you, because you have betrayed Me and exchanged My glory for another.
